Pic 1. The stone in the top photos is thought to be a footstone because it lines up next to the footstone for Deacon Samuel Freeman (d1712). Mercy (Southworth) Freeman was the wife of Deacon Samuel Freeman. This name agrees with the "M F" on the stone. It has been reported that Mercy died November 25, 1712 just five days after her husband at about age 74.

Mercy Southworth was born on May 11, 1638 in Duxbury, Plymouth, Colony Of Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Constant Southworth and Elizabeth Collier. [1] [2]

She married Samuel Freeman on 12 May 1658 in Eastham, Mass.[3] Anderson puts her birthdate at about 1640.[4][5][6] [7] Their children include:
