Sarah Carney (daughter of John Carney and Mary) was born Abt. 1739 in Stafford County, Virginia, and died 1811 in Kentucky.She married John Anderson on November 28, 1752 in Stafford County, Virginia, son of James Anderson and Mary Jordan.
It appears that Sarah Anderson Carney and other family members were early members of the Chopawamsic Baptist Church in Prince William County, Virginia.Nicholas and Barbara Anderson were also members. According to one researcher, John moved to Logan County, Kentucky after serving in Revolution in South Carolina. His wife and children were killed by Indians (wife scalped) in 1790.
