About the Mactaggart surname

Margaret McTaggart was born circa 1847 in Virginia, County Cavan, Ireland. She married James Brady; a native of Dublin. They moved to Liverpool, England, and had two children.

Margaret's parents were William McTaggart and Catherine maiden name unknown. The Bradys emigrated to NY in 1869, thence to Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA, where Margaret McTaggart Brady died in 1887.

Among their children was John T. Brady, my grandfather, who was born in Holyoke in 1874 and spent most of his live in Yonkers, New York. He died in 1948 in Yonkers.

James Brady remarried after Margaret's death. He d. in Holyoke in 1900.
