Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin was born Alexander Rae Baldwin III on April 3, 1958 in Long Island, New York to Alexander Rae Baldwin, Jr., a high school history/social studies teacher and football coach and Carol Martineau, founder of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Care Center of the University Hospital and Medical Center at Stony Brook, NY.

Baldwin is an American actor who has appeared on stage, television and film. He first gained recognition through television for his work in the role of Joshua Rush on the soap opera Knots Landing. His performance in the 2003 film The Cooler garnered him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Since 2006 he has starred on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock as Jack Donaghy, winning two Emmy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards for his work on the show, making him the male performer with the most SAG Awards ever.

Alec Baldwin attended George Washington University from 1976-1979. He then transferred to New York University to study acting at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. He graduated from NYU in 1994 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In 2010, Baldwin gave a commencement address at NYU and was awarded  with a Honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree.

He was married to actress Kim Basinger and had a daughter, Ireland. He is the oldest of the Baldwin brothers who are all actors as well. Daniel Baldwin who is currently married to former British model Joanne Smith, Billy Baldwin who is married to singer Chynna Phillips daughter of The Mamas & the Papas band members John and Michelle Phillips; and Stephen Baldwin is married to Brazilian graphic designer Kennya Deodato.
