Featured Project: American Football Players

By now, you should be familiar with the many different types of Projects on Geni. This week we highlight the American Football Players Project. This project focuses on the founders, contributors and players for the NFL and NCAA.

Some of those profiles included in this project are:

Terry Bradshaw – He is a former American football quarterback with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the NFL, who played 14 seasons.

George Calhoun – He was a co-founder of the Green Bay Packers with Curly Lambeau, and was the team’s first publicity director

Walter Camp – He is considered “The Father of American Football”.

Brett Favre – He is a 20-year veteran of the NFL, having played quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons (1991), Green Bay Packers (1992–2007), New York Jets (2008) and Minnesota Vikings (2009–present).

Lamar Hunt – He was the founder and owner of the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs.

Thomas Landry – He is legendary for his successes as the coach of the Dallas Cowboys and is ranked as one of the greatest and most innovative coaches in NFL history.

Peyton Manning – He holds the record for most NFL MVP awards with four.

Bo McMillin – He was a Hall-of-Fame college football player, and later successful head coach.

John Outland – He was twice named an All-American while playing for the Penn Quakers, in 1897 as a tackle and in 1898 as a halfback.

Bradbury Robinson – He was a college football player for St. Louis University who threw the first legal forward pass in American football history and was the sport’s first triple threat.

Wallace Wade – He served as the head football coach at the University of Alabama from 1923 to 1930 and at Duke University from 1931 to 1941 and again from 1946 to 1950, compiling a career college football record of 171–49–10.
