Profile of the Day: Jules Verne
On February 8, 1828, French author Jules Verne was born. A pioneer of the science fiction genre, Verne wrote about space, air and underwater travel before the practical means of air travel and submarines had been invented and before any means of space travel had been devised. He is best known for his novels, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, A Journey to the Center of the Earth and Around the World in Eighty Days.
