On February 15, 1820 Susan B. Anthony, an abolitionist and prominent civil rights leader, was born. Anthony played a pivotal role in the 19th century women’s rights movement in the U.S, advocating women’s suffrage. With the help of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Anthony drafted the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibits any citizen to be denied the right to vote based on gender.
