Victor Hugo

On May 22, 1885, French poet and author Victor Hugo died. He is buried in the Panthéon in Paris, which holds the remains of France’s most distinguished citizens. He shares a crypt with Alexandre Dumas and Émile Zola. Hugo is best remembered for his novels The Hunchback of Notre-Dame and Les Misérables.
