Today’s Release: Record Search and Estimated Dates

Posted January 20, 2012 by Amanda | 3 Comments

Record Search

We’ve made it even easier to search for records from Archives.com, Find A Grave and GenealogyBank on Geni. You can discover even more about your relatives by entering more information for more accurate search results. To start your search, simply click on the Research tab at the top of the page and select Record Search.

Enter in your relative’s name, birth surname, location and birth/death dates and click Search Results to start searching billions of census, vital and military records, newspapers and more!

Estimated Dates

On side-by-side merge comparison pages, we added estimated dates for profiles that do not have birth or death dates listed. Geni will automatically estimate it based on the birth and death years of immediate family members. Currently, only estimated birth years are visible on the comparison page. By comparing estimated dates, users will be able to easily identify bad matches in their Merge Center.
