Rowland Denys Guy Winn, 4th Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell was born on 19 September 1916.
He was the son of Rowland George Winn, 3rd Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell and Evie Carew Greene.
He married, firstly, Laurian Jones, daughter of Sir Roderick Jones, on 8 May 1952.
He and Laurian Jones were divorced in 1955.
He married, secondly, Marie Wanda Jaxa-Chamiec, daughter of Zygmunt Jaxa-Chamiec and Zofia Ciecierska, on 24 June 1955. He died on 19 December 1984 at age 68.

• Wrote the book Carmela, published 1954.
• Succeeded as the 4th Baron Saint Oswald of Nostell, in the West Riding of co. York on 25 February 1957.
• Held the office of a Lord in Waiting between 1959 and 1962.
• Held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1962.
• Held the office of Joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture between 1962 and 1964.
• Held the office of Member of the European Parliament (M.E.P.) between 1973 and 1979.
