Ane band, grantit be the said Sir Alexander Hamilton in favour of Alexander Hamilton his oye, and sone procreate betwixt Sir Alexander Hamilton of Fenton, Knt. and Dame Elizabeth Ker, his spouse, be quilk the said Sir Alexander obliges him to infeft his said oye in his lands of Ballencrief," dated 27th August 1600. Ane contract of excambion, wherein the said Sir Alexander Hamilton of Innerwick, with consent of Sir Alexander his sone, dispones to Sir James, his sone, procreate betwixt him and Dame Christian, his spouse, the baronie of Ballencrieffe, comprehending the kirk landis of Bathgate, advocation, donation, and rights of patronage, of the kirk of Bathgate, the lands of Kirkwode, Dumpelder and Langlone ; and the said Sir James, in recompence thairof, dispones back again to his father, the landis of Hoprig and Auldharaestokis, whereunto he was provided," contract registered 28th December 1615. 29 June 1606: Extract contract between Sir James Creichtoun of Ruthvenis, taking burden for Thomas, viscount Fentoun, and Sir Alexander Hamilton of Innerweik and Sir Alexander Hamilton of Fenton, his eldest son and others, whereby the lands of Over Sydserff alias Fentountoure, an annualrent of 40s scots furth of the lands of Nether Sydserff, and the lands of Eist Fentoun and Scrailing are alienated to the said viscount.
