  • Thomas Hicks b: ABT 1754 in Rehoboth, Bristol, MA

Marriage?: Sept 16, 1770

Spouse? Col. Nathaniel Carey of Bristol.

NOTE; Ephraim Hicks' 4th wife, was Ann Pierce (Int Apr 22, 1749 at Rehoboth). Hodge (p 17) feels she was probably a widow, but offers no clue to her identity. Mr. Gayle Hix feels she was the daughter of Richard Pearce and Susannah Lawton, b. Sept 21, 1725 in Bristol. RI. But that would mean Ephraim was 28 years older. If they married in 1749, that would make Ephraim about 62 and Ann 24 at the time. Ephraim would also have been the father of a newborn child Samuel at 69 years old. This is possible but unlikely.

The Pearce Genealogy claims that Ann married Col. Nathaniel Carey of Bristol. However, F. C. Pierce's publication of the Pearce Genealogy has been in question for a number of years.

It's possible that one, both, or neither of these spouses are correct.
