Her husband Daniel Levan was born on July 30, 1845 in Roaring Creek Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania. He would have been approximately 23 years old when he married Barbara Ellen Linn.

Per the 1870 Census Ellen Levan (Barbara Ellen), 17, was living with her husband David Levan,32, in Montour Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania with their son Charles, 7 months old, and Barbara Ellen's parents Simon, 62, and Rebeca, 59. Per the 1870 Census Ellen (Barbara Ellen) and David Levan were married in September of 1869. Simon Lynn lists his occupation as Laborer and David Levan lists his ocupation as Farm Laborer.

In between the 1870 and 1880 Census records Barbara and Daniel Levan had 3 children that died young. Charles H.
