Bessie Tobitha Ellerbe

Bessie was born in Tampa, Florida on 4 February 1915. She married Lester Ernest Ellerbe in 1932 in Tampa, Hillsborough County, Florida. Lester was the son of Arthur B. Ellerbe and Mable Macklin and is descended from the Ellerbe family of South Carolina. (see his Memorial). Bessie and Lester made their home in Lakeland near his parents. There is a street in Lakeland named for the Ellerbe family. Bessie and Lester had 6 children. Five are living individuals (2014) and will not be named or described in any way for privacy and security as per F.A.G. policy.

Bessie died on 5 April 1985 in Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Florida. Funeral services for Bessie were held at Wildwood Baptist Church with Rev. George Moore officiating. Burial followed at Auburndale Memorial Park Cemetery in Auburndale, Florida.

Lester died in 1975 (see his memorial). Their son, Dillon Ellerbe died in 2000 ( 23 January 1939-8 June 2000). PML #48315564
