1850 Census taken September 28, 1850 in Logan township -He was 36, born in Ireland and had a property worth of $500Jo Moore Information - During the crossing, Charles (16 yrs age)became sick. His mother went down to steerage to hire someone tonurse him back to health. This person was Mary Jane Steen, froma poor family in county Donegal. Charles and Mary fell in loveand married two years after the ship landed in America. In 1839,after two months of travel via river routes, Charles and Maryarrived on the 27th in Columbus, Ohio. Next they moved toSpringfield, hence to Fletcher, Ohio in Miami county. Theysettled on land 1 1/2 miles NE of Fletcher, for eight years. In1847, they moved five miles NW of Wapakoneta, Ohio, arriving onOctober 16, 1847 and purchased 69 acres. In 1870 they builttheir home. In 1885, they moved into Wapakoneta. Both are buriedin Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, Auglaize county, Ohio.Obituary -Charles McClintock, an aged and highly respected citizen diedquite suddenly the morning about seven o'clock at the home ofhis son, Charles McClintock, Jr., at the corner of SouthElizabeth and West Elm streets, Lima.. Deceased had been illonly three days death resulting from a severe attack ofpnneumonia. Mr. McClintock was born in Donegal, Ireland, beingat the time of his demise, eighty-eight years of age. He issurvived by his sisters (actually daughters) Mrs. Brown ofWapakoneta, Mrs. A. B Nungester, of 816 South Main Street, andhis son, Charles McClintock.Deceased was for a number of years a prominent and prosperousfarmer of Auglaize county. For some time he has been leading aretired life at the home of his son in this city.The funeral services will be conducted at the McClintock home,corner of Elizabeth and Elm streets, Saturday morning at teno'clock, Rev. Culler, D. D., of Wapakoneta, officiating. Theremains will be taken over to Western Ohio to Wapakoneta, wherethey will be interred.The Lima News - 14 Mar 1903 Sat -Laid to RestThe funeral of Charles McClintock who died Thursday morningoccurred today. At ten o'clock services were conducted at thehome of Charles McClintock, at the corner of Elm and Elizabethstreets. Rev Crider. D.D. of Wapakoneta, officiating. Theremains were taken over the Western Ohio interurban line toWapakoneta where they were interred.The obsequies were largely attended, many persons accompaningthe funeral party which made the trip in two specially charteredcars.Taken from Fernando Romshe's diary -March 14, 1903 - Pa, Ma & I went to Wapakoneta and then went onthe street car to Lima to Uncle Chas McClintock Funeral. Therewas a large crowd. They had two private cars to take the peopleto the Green Lawn Cemetery, Back to Wapak.
