Third child of Frank and Lala Blalock, Cletha would be the only grown daughter of this family. She learned early to help her mother keep house and cook for a family of 12. Grew up in McKittrick and Bakersfield. Married for the first time at age 18, (subsequently annulled) before moving to Los Angeles and working in the war effort. With her 3rd husband she adopted a son, James Alippi. She operated a liquor store on the Rosedale Highway for several years followed by a cafe in McKittrick many years. In 1951 she married Arlen Lucas lived briefly in Eureka, CA, before returning to McKittrick. She was quite active in Pocahontas for 50 years.
Predeceased by 4 husbands, a sister, 5 brothers and her parents. Survived by 3 brothers, Ivan Douglas, Leland Jayne and Robert Franklin Blalock, son James Lucas, nieces Carole McNeill, Cletha Moore, Patricia Shriver, Peggy Carpenter, Pamela Lundy and nephews Edward, Tom, Robert and Bob Bruce Blalock.
A sweet and colorful lady, mother and grandmother. Buried next to her husband Arlen Lucas. Inscription: Loving Wife and Mother
