Caleb Root was christened in Congregational Church, Farmington, Hartford, Connecticut. He was born in 1658 in Farmington, Hartford, Connecticut. He was the son of John Root and Mary Kilbourne.

Caleb Root married Elizabeth Salmon on Sunday, 9 August 1693 in Westfield, Hampden, Massachusetts, dau. of Thos. Salmon of Westfield, Mass. She married 2nd to a Mr. Gillette.

Caleb Root died on Friday, 10 June 1712 in Farmington, Hartford, Connecticut.

Caleb did not have a second wife.The Gillette in the ROOT GENEALOGICAL RECORDS was a male.The entry in the book should have read, "She married second ___Gillette."I have never found out what Gillette Elizabeth married, but if you look in the index in ROOT GEN. RECORDS by James Pierce Root, you will find that the Gillette in that entry is a male.
