From the NEHGR:[7]
"Benjamin Handy (Richard2, Richard1) b 7 Sep 1709. Death unknown. He married (int. 14 May 1731 [sic, married, not intentions, see FVR Vol. 1:214]) Elizabeth Fish (Falmouth Town Records). We have found no proof of her identity, but in the study of the Fish families of Sandwich & Falmouth a suitable Elizabeth Fish (this name was not popular with the Fish family) would be the ninth of the 12 children of Nathan2 Fish (Nathaniel1) by his wife Debora, born in Falmouth 28 Oct 1705. The possiblity of the correctness of this identification is strenghtened by the fact that she had a brother Ebenezer and a sister Mariah, 2 of the names given to her children. Although, Benjamin also had a brother Ebenezer, the name Mariah was new to the Handy family.
