FUNERAL FOR MRS. RUSSELL

Many Attend Services Held Over Remains of Provo Woman.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alonzo Russell were held in the Provo Second Ward meeting house, March 0, with Bishop Nephi Anderson of the Manavu Ward in charge. The first song, entitled, "Jesus Lover of My Soul," was rendered by the Second Ward choir. Invocation was offered by Ephraim Elbertson, after which Mrs. Sarah Ramsey and Walter Whitehead sung "The Morning Breaks the Shadows Flee."

The first speaker was T. H. Cluff of the Manavu Ward, his theme was "What is Home Without A Mother," Mrs. Marie Hedquist Homer sang "My Faith In Thee." The second speaker was George Smith, an intimate friend of the family, his subject being, "A Faithful Mother, Wife and Friend," this was followed by a song, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought," sung by Mrs. Sarah Ramsey.

Bishop L. L. Nelson of the Provo Second Ward spoke a few minutes, paying, high tributes to the memory of Mrs. Russell's father and mother the late James Hardy and his wife, of Provo, who left a home in England, "Giving their all for the Gospel of Jesus Christ."

Bishop Anderson the last speaker dwelt upon the "Honesty and Integrity of the Russell Family," the last song "Over Just Beyond the Hill Tops" was rendered by choir and George M. Barton offered the benediction. Interment was in the Provo City Cemetery; F. G. Warnick dedicated the grave.

Mrs. Russell died March 4, after a prolonged illness caused by cancer of the stomach. She was the daughter of the late James Hardy and wife of Provo. Besides her husband she is survived by three sons, Harold Russell of Springdale, Utah; Alonzo Russell of Taber, Canada; Eugene Russell of Orderville, Utah and a daughter, Juanita Russell of Provo; three sons having been buried in early childhood and one son, Sterling Russell died in the battlefield of France, in the late World War. There are also one sister and four brothers surviving, they are Mrs. Phoebe Jones of Provo; Harold Hardy of Magna, Utah; Albert Hardy of Spanish Fork, Utah and Thomas and Joseph Hardy, both of Provo.

Elizabeth Mary Ann Hardy Russell, 65, died at her residence, 739 North 7 East, Provo, Utah, of cancer of the stomach, on March 4, 1924.

Interment was made at the Provo Cemetery on March 7, 1924. She is survived by her husband Alonzo Russell.

Elizabeth Mary Ann Hardy was the daughter of Mary Ann Hyde Hardy and James Hardy.
