Elizabeth de Botetourt le Latimer de Ufford

Daughter of Sir John Botetourt and Maud FitzThomas. She was born circa 1300.

Elizabeth married William Latimer (1301-1335), the son of Sir William le Latimer and Lucy Thwang. They had two sons:

  • Sir William, married Elizabeth de Arundel 1329-1381
  • Thomas

Elizabeth's mother enfeoffed the couple her share of the barony of Bedford on 12 Nov 1328.

William Latimer died shortly before 02 Nov 1335, but still unburied on 10 Dec 1335.

Elizabeth married a second time to Sir Ralph de Ufford, first son and heir to Sir Robert de Ufford, K.G. Earl of Suffolk and Margaret of Norwich. They had no issue.

In 1352 Elizabeth exchanged the manor of Cardington, Befordshire for the manor of Renhold, also in Bedfordshire, with her cousin, Sir John Picot. Robert died about 1368.

Elizabeth died testate on 11 April 1384, requesting burial at Newnham Priory, Newnham, Bedford, Bedfordshire.
