Rev. Fr. Maurice Scallon to Be Assistant at St. Joseph's.
Rev. Father Maurice Scallon, son of Mrs. Will Scallon, will be assistant pastor to Rev. Fr. M.J. Martin at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waterloo, beginning next Sunday, Aug. 22. Rev. Father Scallon was graduated from Loras College, Dubuque; from St. Paul's Seminary, St. Paul, Minn.; was ordained to the priesthood at St. Raphael's Cathedral, Dubuque, last April 17; and said his first Solemn High Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church, this city, April 27, since which time he has served as Chaplain at Mercy Hospital, Mason City. At Waterloo he succeeds Rev. Fr. Kenneth Ryan who has been assigned to duties as teacher of English at Loras Academy.
