He married Emsy C. Betts on February 20, 1840 in Braxton County,Virginia (became WV in 1863). Emsey died soon after thier marriage and Francis married Sarah R. Jones October 28, 1841. Sarah (Jones) Boggs died in child birth and Francis married Harriet Frame in Braxton County January 7, 1852.

The family moved to Tygart District, Wood County, WVMay 1, 1863, where Francis farmed and practiced Law.

	Notes for FRANCIS CHAPMAN BOGGS: Francis Chapman Boggs, a son of James Clendenin and Mary (Lemasters) Boggs, was born in Braxton County VA (WV) October 20, 1822 and died in Wood County, WV August 1, 1900.  He married Emsey C. Betts in Braxton County February 23, 1840.Emsey died soon after thier marriage and Francis married Sarah R. Jones October 28, 1841.  Sarah (Jones) Boggs died in child birth and Francis married Harriet Frame in Braxton County January 7, 1852. Harriet, a daughter of David and Sarah (Harris) Frame, was born in Braxton County August 7, 1833 and died at Vincennes, IN September 5, 1908.  The family moved to Tygart District, Wood County, WVMay 1, 1863, where Francis farmed and practiced Law.
