The Maternal Lineage of FRANKLIN³ ROWE (Nancy Page Warren², Anna Wells¹)
Franklin Rowe was the son of Lucian Rowe and Lucy Stillwell and was born in Onondaga Co., NY possibly at Manlius as his parents were married there Mar. 16, 1828.
Franklin's father died at a young age as a worker on a fruit boat on Lake Erie and is buried in the lake.
At the age of 19 Franklin was a railroad driver. He went west to Wisconsin where his older brother, Elihu, was farming. He began renting land and there he met Mary Elizabeth Noyes, b. June 13, 1839 Hebron, McHenry County, IL. dau. of Nancy Page Warren and Charles Augustus Noyes, a prominent pioneer in Lake Geneva, Walworth County, Wisconsin and Hebron, McHenry Co., Illinois. Mary's mother died when she was a child and she grew up in the home of her father's sister, Sophia Noyes. It was a home of wealth. Mary studied at the Academy and studied Latin and the classics. She taught school before her marriage.

In 1865 Franklin decided to go farther west to Kansas in a covered wagon. They stopped in Iowa and decided to homestead 80 acres in Webster County, Iowa .

Franklin died suddenly at the age of 67 from pneumonia just 28 days following the death of his wife, Mary Noyes. It was heartbreaking for him and is buried in Union Cemetery, Humboldt county, Iowa.
