Lois Frances Rowe Stone (70)was the fifth of seven children born to Franklin Rowe and Mary Noyes. She moved with her parents to Weaver Township, Humboldt Co., IA when a small child and attended the rural school near her home. Later she attended the Normal School at Humboldt. She taught school before her marriage.

On Dec. 31, 1891, in Weaver Township, Humboldt County, IA Lois married Henry Samuel Stone, son of Lucy Knowles and Eber Stone.

They lived in or near Livermore, IA 1892-1909 where she was a charter member of the Twentieth Century Club and Eastern Star Chapter. From 1910 most of her life was spent in Humboldt where she was active in the Chantauqua Circle, Eastern Star, D.A. R., Garden Club, and the Congregational church. She was a most capable homemaker, wise mother and loving, faithful wife - a woman of highest ideals for others, her home and community and she did not spare herself in help both. Lois and Henry had eight children.
