Death notice

The Millard County Progress, Friday, 7 Dec 1917:

Oldest Pioneer In Millard County

Dies

Another, and we believe the oldest pioneer in Millard County has passed to her reward. Mrs. Helen M. Callister was born in New York State on July 17th, 1821, the daughter of Russell K. Clark and Elizabeth Towne Clark and came to Utah and to Fillmore on September 25th, 1847, coming with the first of that noble band of pioneers who made the way for the future generations yet to come.

She married Thomas Callister on December 16th, 1845 and came direct to Utah with her husband who had embraced the Mormon faith. To this union twelve children were born, three of whom have preceded her as well as her husband to the Great Beyond. The living children are as follows: Mrs. Helen M. McCullough of Delta; Mrs. Kate Hatton of Fillmore; Thomas C. Callister and Susan D. Lyman of Salt Lake; Sarah M. Pratt of Baker City, Oregon; Isabella Webb of View, Idaho; Daniel P. Callister of Iosepa, Utah; Russell K. Callister of Salt Lake, and John W. Callister of Oakley, Idaho.

The funeral will be held today from the L.D.S. Chapel at 1:30 P.M.

In our next issue, if possible, we shall give a resume of her life.
