Henry Lawson, son of Thomas Lawson and Nancy Jeffers, was b 31 DEC 1838 in/ near Huntsville, Campbell Co. TN; died 26 MAR 1927 in Edmond, Oklahoma Co. Oklahoma. Married Nancy Evaline Parmley.

Henry Lawson is the son of Thomas Lawson and Nancy Jeffers, who were married about 1822 in Campbell County, Tennessee. They had 15 children. He is their ninth child. His older siblings are Sarah (born about 1823), Susannah (born about 1826), Andrew (born about 1827), Elisha (born September 29, 1829), Christine (born May 31, 1931), Lewis (born about 1833 or 1834), Jeremiah (born July 20, 1834), and Elzick (born August 4, 1835). Henry's younger siblings are Peggy Ann (born about 1840), Lucinda (born October 20, 1841), Lakey (born June 6, 1845), Amanda (born about 1847 or 1848) and twins Elvira and Elmira (born November 1, 1853). All of the Lawson children but the twins were born close to Huntsville, Tennesssee, which was then Campbell County but is now Scott County. The twins were born in Reynolds County, Missouri.
Henry was married on May 26, 1861 in Albany, Clinton County, Kentucky to Miss Nancy Eveline Parmley, who was 16 years old. They had ten children: Martha Cumy, Henry Lewis, Nancy Elizabeth "Lizzie", Hazzard Everett Smith Thomas, John Robert, William Elisha, Samuel Haga, Mary Lucinda "Cindy", Mittie Ellen and Sarah Melissa "Sallie". All of the children grew to adulthood and had families of their own but John Robert who died the day after his birth.
After leaving Kentucky, Henry and Nancy moved to Texas and settled near the town of Stephenville in Erath County where Henry was a expert carpenter and helped build several buildings of the Tarlton College in Stephenville, Texas. He was also a very good "douzer" and several people would go to him when they wanted to find a place to dig a well.
The family moved to Oklahoma and settled in the panhandle near Guymon. He received his certificate of homestead on September 16, 1912 and his Patent on December 18, 1912, which was signed by The President, William Howard Taft.
After a few years the family moved to Edmond, Oklahoma where they lived the remainder of their lives.
His obituary reads: Henry Lawson was born in Huntsville, Scott County, Tenn., Dec. 31, 1838. Died March 26, 1927, age 88 years, 2 months and 25 days. He was converted at the age of 21 and united with the United Baptist church in Ky. Later he united with the Mis. Baptist church at Stephensville, Texas, in 1880. He transfered his membership to the Baptist church at Henrietta, Tex., in 1900. He next moved to Guymon, Oklahoma in 1906 and united with the Baptist church near there. In 1925 he moved to Edmond and changed his membership to Edmond. Here he helped erect the church building at Edmond in about 1916. He prayed for all of the children a short time before he died and also for all Christian people. He was married to Miss Nancy Parmley in 1861 in Ky. To this union were born 10 children, 5 of which are living, 4 girls and one boy. They are: William E. Lawson, Edmond Oklahoma; Mrs. Lizzie Lawson, Reed, Okla., Mrs. Mittie Blake, Henrietta, Texas; Mrs. Sallie Lucinda Dudley, Ill Bend, Texas. The funeral was conducted by Rev. Geo. Drake at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church. Interment was at the Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond.
