Nancy Jeffers is probably the daughter of William and Mary Jeffers. She was married to Thomas Lawson about 1822 probably in Campbell County, Tennessee. They lived in the New River area outside of Huntsville, Tennessee. It was here where their first thirteen children were born: Sarah, Susannah, Andrew, Elisha, Christine, Lewis, Jeremiah, Elzick, Henry, Peggy Ann, Lucinda, Lakey and Amanda.

The Lawson family then moved to Reynolds County, Missouri where their last two children were born: (twins) Elvira and Elmira.

The family moved again, this time to Clinton County, Kentucky and settled on Spring Creek next to where the Dale Hollow Lake is now. They were there when the Civil War broke out. Family stories say that Nancy Jeffers Lawson was accidentally shot by chicken thieves while the family was away and she was alone. She died and is buried in an unmarked grave in the Matthews Cemetery, where most of the Lawson family members are buried who died while living there.

Thomas Lawson married his second wife, Sarah M. Beck (widow of John Groom) on May 15, 1869. She passed away on February 17, 1880. No children.

Thomas Lawson married his third wife, Eliza Jane (widow of Thomas Sanders) on April 25, 1880. They had one daughter: Martha. Eliza Jane had two children from her first marriage - George and America Sanders.

The Lawson family moved to Erath County, Texas about 1882 or 1883. Eliza Jane died in December of 1889. Thomas Lawson died in February 1891 and is buried in an unmarked grave in the Huckabay Cemetery in Huckabay, Texas.
