Mr. H.L. Williamson, age 77 of the Normantown Community, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. He was a native of Uvalda and lived in Normantown most of his life. He started his career with Lake McDonald Construction Company and retired in 2009 after thirty years, as a general superintendent with Lentile Construction Company. He was Baptist by faith and was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Matthews Williamson; and two sons, Darrell Lynn Williamson and an infant, David Lynn Williamson. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a lifelong farmer who enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing.

Mr. Williamson is survived by four daughters, Linda Brantley and husband Al, Teresa Shuman and husband Robert all of Normantown and Sherry Williamson and Sandy Williamson of Atlanta; one sister, Bernice Williamson Jackson and Alva; one brother, Guyton Williamson all of Normantown; four grandchildren, Tracey, Megan, Shanna, and Clay; two great-grandchildren, Grant and Valley, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 31st at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral with Reverend Dannie Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Williamson Cemetery near Normantown.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
