Mr. Algerine Lynn Williamson, age 91, of Normantown died Tuesday, October 2, at Meadows Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.
A native of Toombs County, Mr. Williamson was a member of the Normantown Baptist Church and had resided his entire lifetime in Normantown.
Mr. Williamson is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Allene Rowland, of Savannah, Mrs. Inez Mixon, and Mrs. Bernice Jackson, both of Vidalia, and Mrs. Genese Sapp, of Hagan; five sons: N.A. Williamson, and Aaron Williamson, both of Warren, Texas, Thad Williamson, of Nashville, H.L. Williamson, and Guyton Williamson, both of Vidalia; three sisters: Mrs. Ophelia Williamson, of Vidalia, Mrs. Lillie McLeod of Norfolk, Virginia, and Mrs. Ola Collins Winbourn, of Cocoa, Fla.; one brother, Omer Williamson of Vidalia; 28 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held for Mr. Williamson at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, in the Normantown Baptist Church, with Reverend Danny Williams officiating. Interment was in the Williamson Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers were Bob Williamson, Walter Williamson, R.W. Williamson, Gene Robinson, Nelson Logan, and Joel Joyner. Honorary pallbearers were Johnny Waters, Cannie Rockett, Buddy Morris, Herbert Burns, Otis Logan, Bo Robinson, and Eugene Waters.
Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
