Jacob E. Harrell

Records show that Francis and Mary Harrel lived in Nanesmond County, VA in 1731. Prior to May 20, 1734 they moved to Bertie County, North Carolina with a son Jacob. Records show that there were Harrells listed in Erin's Isle (Ireland) and it may be presumed that this is where Francis was born. HOWEVER at this time we are not sure of the presumption.(John Flo Harrell Family History Manuscript)

When the new world of America was in its infancy, some of the settler's from Erin's Isle (Ireland) were Harrell's. In 1731, records show Francis and Mary Harrell lived in Nansemond County, Virginia. Prior to May 20, 1734, They moved to Bertie County, North Carolina along with a son, Jacob Harrell, and obtained land in North Carolina and South Carolina. We have no recordof the date of Jacob's birth or death, and his wife's name is unknown, but his son, Levi Harrell, was born in 1750 in Anson Co., North Carolina and ided sometime after the 1790 census. Levi married a Mrs. Cole and they parented Levi II, Asa, Francis, and William. He later married a Miss White and they parented three more sons, Levi's seven sons left the Carolina's and settled in Dodge, Coffee, Pulaski, Wilkinson and Telfair Counties in Georgia. _____________________________________________________________________
