About James Bidwell Butler, Jr
DEATH: Boston Newsletter, 2 November 1736, reported that James Butler of Lancaster was killled when he was run over by his cart loaded with hay. Among his personal possessions were two old Bibles and together with buildings valued at ℒ80, there were about seven acres of cranberry meadow, a Crown Right of about 68 acres, and another right in a Crownship granted to Capt. John Cray. There were four oxen, six cows, several heifer, calves, sheep and swine. A horse, a mare, and a two-year old colt, all appraised by James Wilder, John Priest, and Jonas Houghton. Among the charges made to the estate, was ℒ1.12.0 for carrying Mary Hinds, James' mother, to the children of her second marriage living in Brookfield.
!Inventory dated December 20, 1735, by John Chandler, Feb 18, 1796-97, Hannah Butler entered a bill for several items, including the clothing and care of her four young children.
