Word has been received here of the death Monday at his home in Brimley of John F. Goodeman, 69, for 27 years a resident of Saginaw. The funeral took place Wednesday at Sault Ste. Marie. He was born Feb. 16, 1871, in Saginaw and left here in 1898. He leaves his wife, Alice; three daughters, Mrs. R.J. Strobridge and Mrs. Ed Sparks of Sault Ste. Marie, and Mrs. Richard Gemmel of Brimley, a son, Russell Goodeman of Brimley, three brothers, a sister and 12 grandchildren.

John F. Goodeman, 69, of Brimley died at 11a.m. Monday, July 22, 1940, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R.J. Strobridge, 507 Carrie Street.
Mr. Goodeman was born February 16, 1871, in Saginaw, Mich.
Surviving are his wife, Alice; three daughters, Mrs. R. J. Strobridge of the Sault, Mrs. Ed Sparks of the Sault and Mrs. Richard Gemmel of Brimley; a son, Russell, of Brimley; three brothers, one sister and 12 grandchildren.
Mr. Goodeman moved to Brimley about 20 years ago. For 22 years before that he was a sawer for the Bartlett Lumber Company at Shelldrake.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Vanderhook Chapel, the Rev. R.C. Johnson of the Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetary.
