Theodore Goodeman was born in Germany October 20, 1830. He immigrated to America on August 1, 1863 on the ship "Sir Isaac Newton" to New York, arriving on September 20, with wife Sophie and son Frederick. It has been said there was a baby daughter that perished on the trip, but there are no documents supporting this. The family located first in Milwaukee, WI. Sophie died in 1863. He came to Saginaw in 1865 and the same year was married to Miss Augusta Langschwager. They lived in Zilwaukee on the corner of Adams & Bush until 1882, when they moved to a farm in Kochville township on Tittabawassee Road, northeast corner by Mackinaw Road.
