About John Squires
Confirmed 17 June 1870 - Cashel parish register.
Although John was presumably brought up in the Church of Ireland, by 1901 he was a Presbyterian living at 7 Russell Place, Dublin. Since his mother-in-law, Maryanne Cockburn, living with him, was a Presbyterian, it seems likely he became a Presbyterian on or after marriage.
In 1904 still living at 7 Russell Place.
In 1911 living at 2 Ardilaun Terrace with his wife Maryann (54), sons John (32), a widower, William (22), and James (20), daughter Mary Annie (31), grand-daughters Anna Charlotte (5) and Kathleen Phyllis (2), and brother-in-law Peter Cockburn (60).
