Mae Ella Fahey Parden

MARY ELLEN “Mae Ella” FAHEY was born April 24, 1888 in Ackley, Iowa and died in March 1982 in Iowa. She was a school teacher. She married JAMES PARDEN Nov. 22, 1911 in Iowa, born March 24, 1885 at Rock Valley, Iowa to James W. and Mary Galligher Parden, died Sept. 19, 1971 at Iowa City, Iowa. He worked in George as a bank clerk and then as assistant cashier, and served as city assessor. The 1920 census has James, Mae and their two young daughters living in Mason City, Cerro Gordo County, Iowa, where his occupation is listed as bank vice president. The 1930 census adds son Robert and they have moved to Iowa City, Johnson Co. Ia. Mae and James are buried in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Section, Iowa City.

3. ROBERT J. PARDEN, b. April 17, 1922 at Mason City, Iowa, d. July 20, 2014 in California; on June 15, 1955, m. Betty Taylor, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Felton Taylor, had four children. Residence: Saratoga, Calif.

Iowa City - Mae Parden, 93. Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Visitation after 4 p.m. today at Donohue-Lensing Mortuary, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 tonight. Burial: St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Johnson County Community Health Services.

Miss Mae Fahey will teach at Meservey this fall and winter. Ackley girls are always in demand as teachers.
