ABOUT THE NAME "AARONS": Although it appears that Russell D.'s spelled his last name "Aarons," it is very difficult to research his descendants due to the varied spellings used in public documents. The most common spellings are "Aarons," "Aaron," Arons" and "Aron." I do not know whether his descendants "officially" changed the spelling, or if it was just recorded that way. For example, three of Littleberry and Deliah's sons signed their WW I draft registrations as "Arons." Elsberry and Martha's son, Jackson R., is listed in GA death records as "Jackson R. Aron." "Aaron" is probably the most common spelling of Russell's descendants. (Mark Lawless)
