Nathaniel N. Eubank (a) was born on May 14, 1840, in Tennessee, a son of William "Billy" C. Eubank and Jane L. (McCraken) Eubank. He became known as "Nat" and later, as "Uncle Nat". In 1841, his family moved from Tennessee to Paris, Lamar County, Texas. They settled in a new home place that was a mile and a half southeast of Paris.
In 1865, he married Sarah Jane Bray in Lamar County, Texas. In their Eubank family, they became parents of Thomas "Tom" Wooten (1867); Lou Katie (1868); Margret Neva? (1869); William T (1870); Ophelia Tennessee (1872); Isaac B (1874); Augustus "Gus" Nathaniel (1876); Little Sister (1878); Mary (1879); Sarah Etta (1883); Ella Jane (1884); James "Jimmie" Bedford (1886) and Carroll Edward (1889) Eubank.
Nathaniel worked as a farmer and became known to all of his friends as 'Uncle Nat' Eubank. They lived at the same place for around 50 years, Rt D (3) near Paris, TX.
On June 7, 1900, Nathaniel Eubank, age 60, lived with his family outside Paris, Lamar County, Texas, including wife Sarah Eubank, age 54, son Augustus Eubank, age 24, daughter Ella Eubank, age 16, son James Eubank, age 14, son Carroll Eubank, age 11, grandson Harry Eubank, age 6, granddaughter Eva Eubank, age 4, and grandson, Ralph Eubank, age 2.
On July 3, 1913, farmer Nathaniel N Eubank, one of the pioneer residents of Paris, Lamar County, TX, age 73, died in the afternoon of blood poisoning at St. Joseph Infirmary, Paris attended by Dr. J.M. Hooks. He had been admitted the previous Sunday as he had been ill about 2 weeks. Informant was Dr. G.W. Smith.
Funeral service was the next day, July 4th holiday, led by Rev. W.B. Kendall, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Paris. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Paris, TX. Records of his funeral cost included casket Ruskin, size 6/3 & box $125.00; 5 carriages $25.00; hearse $10.00; wagon to residence $2.50; open grave $5.00; Total $167.50 (b).
