Glasco Sun, Friday, Feb. 2, 1912, page 1: Oliver Plymon Martin was born near Manchester, Iowa, Aug. 26, 1866. He lived there until 12 yrs of age when he moved with his parents to Cloud Co., Kans., in 1879. He made his abode on the home place two miles east and three and three quarters north of Glasco, almost the entire time. In Minneapolis, Kans., on Oct. 11, 1911, he was married to Mrs. Lydia Francis McClellan, the couple making their home where he had spent his youthful days. Mr. Martin has been in poor health for several years, and Dec. 29, 1911, he was unable to leave the house. Soon after, he was confined to his bed. He died at four o'clock Thursday morning, Jan. 25, 1912. The deceased was the youngest son of a family of seven, T.C. Martin of Glasco, Kans.; Isabella Hare of Delphos, Kans.; Helen Hetherington of Manchester, Iowa; May Swain of Enid, Okla.; Electa Williams, deceased; Jessie Tipton, Jamestown, Kans.; who with an aged mother and a bride of a few months remain to mourn his death. He was a kind, loving husband and an obedient son. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church, Glasco, Jan. 27, interment in the pretty little Glasco cemetery.
