Obituary: The Deseret News, Vol. XXVIII, No. 6, Wednesday, 12 Mar 1879:
DIED.
In Fillmore City, February 23d, 1879, after a lingering illness of many months, MILLY, beloved daughter of Thomas and Caroline Smith Callister.
Born in Salt Lake City, July 11th, 1851, moved to Fillmore with her parents in 1862. Returned to Salt Lake City in 1868, and was a diligent student at the University of Deseret for three years. Opened a school at Fillmore in 1871, and taught it successfully for many years; was also President of the Young Ladies' Retrenchment Association for six years. These duties she performed with marked ability, and by her amiable disposition won the love and esteem of all, which was deeply manifested by their attention during her illness, and by the large procession that followed here to her last resting place.
She was a true Latter-day Saint and said many times, "I am not afraid to die."
