Richard Seymour York is the only son of Jeremiah York I and Sarah Seymour. He was most likely born about 1715 at Olney, Buckinghamshire County, England. His mother Sarah Seymour is believed to have died from compilations at his birth at age nineteen

Their son Richard Seymour York married in 1738 in England. He was the father of his only known son John William York born in 1740 at Olney, Buckinghamshire County, England. Richard Seymour York is believed to have died about 1757 just before his only son John William York married.

John William York married Susannah Wilson on 11 Feb 1769 in Islington, Middlesex, England. Richard York IV is the second surviving son of Jeremiah York I and Sarah Seymour. He was most likely born about 1712 at Olney, Buckinghamshire County, England. His mother Sarah Seymour is believed to have died from compilations at his birth at age 20. There may have been other children that have not been identified or did not live past their infant years.

Richard York IV, age 20, married in about 1738 to an unknown wife in Olney, Buckinghamshire County, England. He is believed to be the father of his son John William York born in 1740 and his son Bartholomew York born 1745 at Olney, Buckinghamshire County, England. There may have been other children of Richard York IV. Richard York IV is believed to have died about 1767 in England just before his son John William York married in 1769. It is suggested that the settlement of the Richard York IV estate through the SEYMOUR family was significant. Perhaps this provided the resources necessary for John William York and his proposed brother Bartholomew York to afford a voyage to America in the summer of 1769.

John William York married Susannah Wilson on 11 Feb 1769 in Islington, Middlesex, England. John William York and Susannah Wilson emigrated to America in 1769 most likely into the port of Charleston South Carolina. All of these children later migrated and pioneered into Alabama, Mississippi, and the Republic of Texas.
