About Robert Greene
Biography
Robert Greene was born circa 1648 in Great Mills (Greens Rest), St. Mary's County, Province of Maryland. His parents were Thomas Greene, 2nd Proprietary Governor of Maryland and Winifred Clarke.
Robert married Mary Ann (Boarman) Greene in 1679 in Charles Co., Md.. Together they had the following children: Robert Greene, Jr.; James Francis Greene; Thomas Greene; Elizabeth (Greene) Simpson; Sarah (Greene) McAtee; Anne (Greene) Clark; Mary (Greene) Thompson; William Greene.
He died on May 12, 1716 in St. Mary's County, Province of Maryland.

Text: Page 54, 57, 274, 275, 276, 282, 283, 287, 288 - James Greene of Prince George's County, Maryland, purchased a tract of land called Strife 1 May 1701 in partnership with Thomas Federick (1). He received 100 acres of Frederick's share of Strife according to the latter's will in 1709 (2).
James Greene, Sr., died testate. In his will, dated 14 February 1727 and proved 17 February 1734, he devised 300 acres of Stife to his son, James; 200 acres of Strife to his daughter, Mary Bowling, and reserved the residue of the land in the west end of Strife for his wife as long as she remained his widow; and the remainder of Strife to his son, William. The tract of land known as Air was equally divided between his son, Roger Greene, and his daughter, Elizabeth Thompson. Roger was also given a small tract of land called Cooper (3).
