About William Gordon Taylor Midson
William Gordon Midson was born in 1890 and married Gertrude Lloyd in 1916. After his marriage to "Gertie" Lloyd, Gordon moved to the Gosford District where he purchased a property at Narara. This was almost virgin country in those days and considerable effort was required to clear the land for it to be suitable for farming. Using the skills taught to him by his father he established a citrus and stone fruit orchard. Horses were used in cultivating the property and there was always a milking cow to provide milk for the family. Later in life he moved into Gosford and opened a fruit shop with his son Don.
