WILLIS CACKLER DEAD
Willis Cackler died at his home in Lacona, Iowa, on Saturday, the funeral occurring at the Latter Day Saints church, in Warren county, on Sunday afternoon. He had always been held in high regard, and his old neighbors and friends gathered in a multitude to pay their parting respects.
He had resided alone in his cottage at Lacona, and took suddenly and severely ill on Friday morning - probably during the previous night. He was unable to help himself and remained there alone, in his suffering condition, until near or after noon, when he was discovered by a citizen of the of the place, a merchant by the name of John Bools.
Medical aid was summoned and everything possible was done, but to no avail. He lingered and suffered until the next day, when he expired. He was 74 years of age, and was one of the well-known citizens of Warren and Lucas counties, and had lived in the vicinity all of his life.
He has three surviving children, two sons, Jesse and James, at Ft. Dodge, and a daughter, Mrs. Josie Lane, of St. Joseph, who were present at the funeral. Nelson Cackler, of Chariton is a brother, and Thomas Cackler, of Liberty Center, is a half brother.
