EFFIE LULA GOBEN

Effie Lula Goben, daughter of Sarah and Isaac Cackler, was born in Warren county, Iowa, Feb. 9, 1879, and passed away at the O'Donnell Nursing Home, May 22, 1957, at the age of 78 years, three months and 13 days.

She was united in marriage to Alfred Goben, Oct. 17, 1895. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Aulden, an infant daughter, Daisy, and a brother, Lem.

She was converted early in life and was a member of the Christian Union church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rolland Heston, of Osceola and Mrs. John Griffith, of Ottumwa, three sons, Wilbert, of Udell, Floyd and Edward, of Lucas, 22 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Mowery, of Lucas and Mrs. Dean Phillips, of Chariton, and two half-brothers, Ed Roberts, of Lucas and John Roberts, of Racine, Wisc., and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home, Friday, May 24, 1957 at 2 p.m, with the Rev. A. E. Beals officiating. Interment was at the Rose Hill cemetery.
