  • The Rt Clifford Walter (6 December 1905 - 28 June 1978) x Barabra Howarth Studied Law at Cambridge and practiced in London, he served in the Royal Artillery during World War 2. Came to Rhodesia in 1948. From 1958 to 1862 he was Federal Member of Parliament for Fort Victoria. 1962 to 1964 he represented Charter in the Southern Rhodesia Parliament holding several Ministerial posts. On U.D.I. in 1965 he was designated "Officer Administering the Government" and sworn in as President of Rhodesia on 16 April 1970. He farmed on Ngesi Poort (Bonanza) producing tobacco and was prominent in local community matters..
