Profiles

This sub-project aims to organize genealogical data on the royalties of the Manila Carnival, a two-week national fair, held between 1908 and 1939. According to Alex Castro, a widely-referenced author of a blog on the Manila Carnival, the event was created "to celebrate harmonious U.S.-Philippine relations and to showcase our commercial, industrial and agricultural progress. Spectacular parades, lavish shows, firework displays and the crowning of the Manila Carnival Queen highlighted the greatest annual event in the Orient".
