Reiniger families may be descended from persons nicknamed Niger ,who succeeded to become kings of areas where Spanish-Latin language was spoken,whether in the Holy Land of America,or elsewhere in Asia or Europe . So their surname may be composed from the Spanish word for King and the Latin one for 'black' : Rey-Niger .
Such was for example Niger of Peraia ( Perawiwa ) ,that is from Peru ,fighting against the intrusive Romans for the preservation of the Holy Land .He died during the siege of the Holy City in about 54 , and may be identical with Simeon Niger ,one of the prophets of the Church in the city ,mentioned in the so called "Deeds of Apostols" that seems to describe events before that siege
An other outstanding personality was Pescennius Niger, who became also Roman Emperor some 120 years after ,and was based in Syria where many of modern "Jewish" families may take their more recent origin from . Maybe he was descended from one of the first Nigers .
