If you can’t merge them, post links to BOTH profiles in this discussion.

Project Collaborators welcome.

Thank you Erica! Here are a few more. Are you planning to invite the managers here to collaborate as in the medieval tree? I thought that was brilliant. The medieval tree duplicates that pop up now are much fewer.

Marcella Nichole Hoff All done.

Managers invited to collaborate on the project.

Project collaborators urged to invite managers also ! It’s how we all learn from each other.

Thank you Erica Howton! I will be happy to invite others. I just wasn't sure what the protocol was :)

8/15/2018 at 1:16 PM

I’ve just merged the 200th copy of Lieutenant Thomas Rolfe

And invited the duplicating managers to the project, as well as the good souls who requested the merges.

To explain: “notable” American families such as this one have been on Geni since it opened for business in 2007.

If you work your way up to them for your tree, and find a relationship to them, they are already “in” your tree. There is no reason “at all” to create a copy profile (except to cause your fellow members more pain ...).

William Lucas, Jr. and his family, added two months ago

Anyone in my tree, If they are already listed i try to add rather than reenter. Feel free to ask me anything! I am close to being done -70% according to Geni, but i am not sure how they know that?

Thank you, Jon Arnon

Manager invited to project, tree merge in progress.

Michele Gaye Settle I guess the existing entries weren’t obvious to you. :(

It would be great if you help add source citations & biographies in the “about.”

Thank you for joining the project !

@Erica Howton

No, I was entering from what I had of family records and did not notice at all. I would not have added duplicates if I had seen they were already there. I only have info my Mother gave me that my Grandmother had in her little diaries, not a lot of info, only what I entered. Any info I have I enter, it's just not a lot and I am still researching much of it on my own as they are both gone now.

I am excited to see what new info I may find through this project!

8/15/2018 at 9:47 PM

Yes, we can accomplish much more together than separately. If you have scans of your grandmother’s notes to add to the profiles for people she wrote about, that would be wonderful to add to
Geni.

https://www.geni.com/merge/resolve/6000000000045180473 data conflicts from 4 different merges.

I found him in my pile (999+) of Smart Matches.

I have hunted on Google for evidence that he is the offspring of Grace (Ravens) Sherman/Rogers/Porter and Thomas Rogers. I have found nothing.

8/19/2018 at 8:15 PM

Good catch!

Capt. John Rogers, Privateer disconnected from Massachusetts parents.

Perhaps Virginia parents can be found, but in the meantime I’ve locked so no parents can be added without curator intervention.

With my nutty tree, anything is possible. But Massachusetts to Virginia at that time period - very unlikely.

Please connect Asenath Hitchcock to Eli Doolittle and Ruth Doolittle Hotchkiss as their daughter.

John Smith, ♊ appears to have the death date of his nephew, John Smith (John Smith, of East Haven).

Both have a wife, Martha Tuttle. Martha Smith is properly attached to John Smith, of East Haven

Another good catch.

Genealogical Register of the Descendants of John Scranton..., page 17 details the 3 marriages of John Scranton, 3rd - Mary Norton; Mary or Sarah Evarts, daughter of John Evarts; and Mary Bushnell, his sister-in-law & daughter of Francis Bushnell. It is not really clear on when the 2nd & 3rd unions occurred. It does list his children, not all of which are in Geni. (link -https://books.google.com/books?id=mR1YAAAAcAAJ&pg=PA22&lpg=...)

Any help in finding his other wives would be great.

Sarah Stevens and Sarah Stevens are the same person.

I would do the merge but both parents of Sarah Stevens are MP.

Support - https://www.cga.ct.gov/hco/books/Bushnell_Family_Genealogy.pdf page 44 discusses John Bushnell who married Sarah Scranton with their children.

Rebecca Bushnell and Rebecca Bushnell are the same person.

John Scranton, Sr., of Guilford has a merge issue in his tree.

I think he is locked because I was unable to resolve it.
