About Augusta Nellie Hagen

Augusta Reiswig was the third child of John and Sarah Seibel Reiswig born November 12, 1899 at Hillsboro, Kansas. She departed to be with her Lord January 14, 1980 at the age of 80 years, 2 months. and 2 days.
Mother recognized her need of a Saviour, was baptized uoon her confession of faith in Christ Jesus June 20, 1920 and became a member of the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren church.
She was married to Henry Hagen January 23, 1916. We, as a famiy lived at various places in Kansas and Oklahoma before moving the California. After living at Bakersfield for 3 months we settled in Reedley, California.
Our father passed away July 13, 1955 and after 7 years a widow mother married Henry Petker on July 15, 1962. This marriage too dissolved by death May 21, 1977.
Mother worked hard all her life. She spent many hours packing fruit in the summer months at Nash De Camp Fruit Co. Beside working at home sewing for her family in later years she sewed and quilted with the Senior MB Missionary group. She took part in all the activities of her church.
She took a keen interest in each of our lives encouraging and supporting us. She had a burden for our spiritual welfare and remembered us before God's throne in prayer. She was a cheerful optimistic Christian making the best of every situation.
Her health failed after she underwent surgery in 1974. Her last years were spent in Palm Haven and Sierra View Home. Mother's teaching and exemplary life will always remain with us. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalms 23.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: May 16 2024, 19:49:03 UTC
