Axel Pedersen of the Earl Tott (wrote to Härlöv in Skåne), died between November 24, 1446 and January 25, 1447 at Varberg Castle, was a Danish National Council, who became the national leader twice.

Axel Pedersen appears in documents for the first time in 1390. He became a knight sometime between 14 December 1395 and 6 July 1397, probably in connection with Erik of Pomerania's crown in Kalmar 17 June 1397. Some time before 1416 he became Danish councilor and in 1410 he held Elleholm Castle with its land as a mortgage lane. Axel Pederssen was the chieftain at Helsingborg Castle in 1414. After his death, he was buried in Varbergs church.

Activity [edit | edit wikitext] Axel Pedersen belonged to the wealthy Skåne aristocracy, and began in the 1390s to emerge in Scandinavian politics as followers of Queen Margareta and Erik of Pomerania. He participated in more important advice and decisions; For example, he was at the time of the peace settlement between the Queen and Albrekt of Mecklenburg in the summer of 1395 in the castle of Lindholm and at the important union meeting in July 1397 in Kalmar. In the following he was clearly the highly trusted servants of the Union monarchs. When he sealed the Union Treaty between the Nordic Union empires and Poland in 1419, he made it as chieftain of Varberg, Falkenberg, Skanör and Falsterbo. He represented at that time King Erik on important coastal halls and landings alongside the important Öresund trail in Denmark, East Iceland. Even in the following years, he is found as Eriks of Pomerania's troman and assistant in both diplomatic and warlike trials, not least during the battle with the Hanseatic cities around 1430.

Family [edit | Axel Pedersen became married to Ingeborg Ivarsdotter, daughter of the knight, riksrådet and teamman Ivar Nilsson (Ivar Nilsson's husband) and Margareta Tordsdotter (Farmer) after a previous marriage with Cathrine Krognos by 1418, probably several years earlier.

Axel Pedersen uppträder i dokument första gången 1390.
